It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Raymond Ouimet, former President of the Regroupement des gestionnaires et copropriétaires du Québec (RGCQ), who passed away last December at the CHSLD Monseigneur Coderre, peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. His passing leaves a great void in the condominium community, where he was an inspiring figure and an indispensable pillar.
On behalf of the RGCQ, I wish to pay tribute to a man who profoundly shaped the history of co-ownership in Quebec. His unwavering commitment and vision helped shape the current landscape of condominium management
As President of the RGCQ from 1999 to 2011, Mr. Ouimet played a pivotal role in the structuring and recognition of the condominium sector. His leadership and dedication raised awareness, educated, and supported many managers and co-owners, thereby improving the management of condominium syndicates across the province. His achievements will remain a source of inspiration for all those who work in this field.
Under his leadership, the RGCQ flourished and became a vital voice for condominium issues in Quebec. Mr. Ouimet embodied the values of collaboration and excellence, which continue to guide our organization today.
Raymond Ouimet is survived by his wife, Mrs. Claudette Gingras, his brother Guy Ouimet (Martine), his nieces and nephews, as well as many relatives and friends. He was the son of the late Lucien Ouimet and the late Marie-Jeanne Viziau, and the father of the late Yves Ouimet.
