July 12, 2016 - A new university co-ownership management program is born. It will be given at the Centre de perfectionnement de l’École des sciences de la gestion (ESG UQUAM) (Development center of the Management Sciences School ESG UQAM) starting on September 8 next.
At a time when this community living formula takes center stage of the residential real estate sector, and when many consumers are likely to purchase a condo, mastering co-ownership is the assurance of exemplary management. This program is therefore part of a process to ensure that managers can better serve syndicates of co-ownership.
The courses are offered in four areas: Co-ownership legal management, Co-ownership financial management, Co-ownership building technical management and Management of daily life in co-ownerships.
The four course directors are Emeritus lawyer and General Secretary of RGCQ Yves Joli-Coeur, architect André Bourassa, former president of the Ordre des architectes du Québec (OAQ), Aline Desormeaux (CPA auditor, CA, Adm.A) partner at accounting firm Désormeaux Patenaude inc., and David Ménassé (Adm.A.), President of Team Propri-Gestion. All are competent to lecture on the ins and outs of their respective disciplines, since co-ownership has been their bread and butter for many years.
Each of the four modules will last 30 hours. They will allow, once completed, a thorough understanding of the legislative framework governing Québec co-ownership. "The participants will discover its many applications, both in terms of the laws defining its structure and from a financial, accounting and management standpoint," underlines Emeritus lawyer Yves Joli-Coeur, senior partner at De Grandpré Joli-Coeur law firm and designated course director of the co-ownership legal management module.
Take note that the co-ownership management program is intended for many types of participants: the managers themselves, the co-ownership directors and co- owners, to name a few. Classes are offered during evenings and weekends. Once the program is completed, participants are subject to an exam for each module, as well as to a comprehensive examination covering the entire program
