Procedure that allows the creditor to seize the debtor's property in the possession of a third person before having it sold under judicial authority, or the sums owed by a third person to the debtor. This type of seizure includes amounts held by a debtor with an insurer, financial institution or employer (e.g. a portion of his or her remuneration).
