Definition : Flooring

Material intended to cover a floor or a portion thereof. There are various materials, such as wood (wood slats), stone (marble, granite), ceramic and textile (carpet). To mitigate the transmission of airborne and impacts noise, the declarations of co-ownership may stipulate that an acoustic membrane must be affixed to the floor before the installation of flooring.
