Definition : Confidentiality incident

Any access, use or communication of personal information that is not authorized by the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector as well as the loss of personal information or any other breach of the protection of such information. A confidentiality incident can therefore take many forms, including the erroneous transmission of a co-owner's banking information to third parties, the unauthorized extraction or disclosure of the co-owners' personal information by an employee of the syndicate or condo manager, or the accidental publication of personal information online.
