Definition : Co-ownership Working Group

Non-decision-making committee, set up in 2009 by the Chambre des notaires du Québec, with the approval of the then Minister of Justice Kathleen Weil.  Made up of Quebec lawyers specializing in divided co-ownership and other stakeholders in the community, the mandate of the Co-ownership Working Group was to highlight gaps in previous law and to propose appropriate legislative solutions to fill them. On March 23, 2011, the Co-ownership Working Group produced a report, which can be consulted by clicking on this hyperlink.  This report is at the origin of the legislative amendments in co-ownership made by Bill 141 in 2018 and Bill 16 in 2019.
