Definition : Authentic extract

A verbatim reproduction of a portion of an authentic act, for example, of an act en minute. Such an extract signed by a notary is authentic in itself and makes proof of its content. Generally, the extract includes the titles and the closing of the act and suspension points are added where parts of the text are not reproduced. Therefore, an extract of a declaration of co-ownership could be received and certified by the notary who received the declaration of co-ownership in his minutes and this extract would therefore have the same authenticity as the original itself.
