Excessive use of voting rights by some co-owners. The abuse of majority assumes that the decision taken by co-owners (holding the majority of votes), during a vote in a meeting of co-owners, is not justified by the general interest of the co-owners, especially when the personal interest of certain co-owners is contrary to the common interest. Article 1103 of the Civil Code of Quebec recognizes the right of co-owners to contest a resolution (decision) voted or rejected at a meeting of co-owners, by invoking an "abuse of majority".
