Definition : Lightning

Sudden and powerful discharge of aerial electricity that occurs during a thunderstorm. Lightning is accompanied by a bright light, lightning, and a violent detonation, thunder. Damage caused by lightning is covered under a property insurance contract taken out by a syndicate of co-owners in accordance with the third paragraph of article 1073 of the Civil Code of Quebec, unless the insurance policy or a rider sets out, expressly and in clearly legible characters, which of those risks are excluded.
