Definition : Flooding

Overflow of a natural body of water that often occurs after heavy rains, ice jams or snowmelt. A flood can result in damage to real and movable property.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW! The Ministère de la Sécurité publique has created an interactive map that allows citizens to identify areas that are considered to be a flood zone. This interactive map can be viewed through an application called  Géo-Inondations.
