Natural or legal person who, within the context of a subordinate relationship, directs, supervises, and controls the activities of another person, known as the agent or subordinate. This supervision and control relationship is referred to as a "subordination relationship" or "position of authority." According to article 1463 of the Civil Code of Quebec, the principal is bound to make reparation for injury caused by the fault of his subordinates in the performance of their duties, when such fault cause damage.
