February 26th - Yves Joli-Coeur, a lawyer (Ad E) and senior partner of the firm of lawyers and notaries de Grandpré Joli-Coeur, is now a newly appointed member of the Advisory Committee on the condominium. The creation of this Committee stems from a report produced in 2011 by the Working Group on the condominium, which was designed mainly to propose possible solutions to modernize the law on this living arrangement.
Composed of seven members, the Committee will be chaired by Christine Gagnon, lawyer and expert in condominium law, and Francois Desrosiers, economist, professor and expert on urban management and real estate. Supported by the Chamber of Notaries of Quebec, their recommendations will be sent this summer to the Minister of Justice of Quebec, Jean-Marc Fournier. Recall that the Regroupement des gestionnaires et copropriétaires du Québec (RGCQ) submitted a Memorandum to the Working Group, in 2010, which specifies several dysfunctions experienced in this type of housing.
